In August Kazakhstan will host Eurasian Higher Education Leaders Forum
The Eurasian Higher Education Leaders Forum will take place August 20-21, 2012, in Astana. The forum is being organized by Nazarbayev University. This is the first time for Kazakhstan to create a discussion platform in education at such a high level.
Leaders and top managers in education, researchers, government officials and politicians from nearly 30 countries from Europe, Asia and North America have been registered by today to attend the forum. The Eurasian Higher Education Leaders Forum Agenda is focused on management issues in research organizations.
Nazarbayev University will present poster presentations about its experience of building a one-of-a-kind research university working under the principles of autonomy and academic freedom. This experience will be especially interesting and useful for universities in the region. The forum working languages are English, Kazakh and Russian.
The Director of Research at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education David Bridges and Professor of the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education and Chair of the Learning Alliance for Higher Education Robert Zemsky will present the forum speakers’ pool. Nazarbayev University strategic partners such as Cambridge and University College London (UK) and University of Pennsylvania (USA) will also present at the forum.
Today Eurasia is a region of great interest for higher education leaders. Many countries of the region today are passing through a transitional development period which also involves education. Now these countries are integrating into the global educational sphere.
During multilateral discussions participants will share their experiences and learn. An exhibition for local and world companies providing educational goods and services will be a part of the event. Moreover, the forum attendees will be able to join the opening ceremony for the Graduate School of Education and graduate programs for the Graduate School of Public Policy and Graduate School of Business at Nazarbayev University.
The forum will create an opportunity to learn more about world trends in higher education from leading world experts and researchers as well as about the assessment of the quality of modern research, teaching and learning.
Registration is open till July 31, 2012.
